Thursday, May 29 | Did Someone Say Peppers | 6:30PM – 7:30PM

Did you know that the first Javanese long pepper reference comes from ancient Indian Ayurvedic textbooks, where medicinal and dietary uses are described in detail? Or, that the peppers were once used as a form of money? Wow!

Learn more about peppers and their uses, both culinary and holistically, at Bazaar Spices on Thursday, May 29th at 6:30pm as we host an informative Pepper Tasting and Interactive Discussion. Not only will you get a overview of the history of these fascinating spices, but you will get to sample a wide range of peppers from the rare Kampot peppercorn from Cambodia to the aptly named Grains of Paradise grown throughout Western Africa. This is a great class for kids as well as adults.

Sunday Supper at Union MarketNow in its third year, Sunday Supper at Union Market, a collaboration among the James Beard Foundation, the Good Food Awards and EDENS, celebrates the people and ingredients behind good food. As with any true family meal, diners share a communal table with the chefs, artisans, and thought leaders who make the evening possible. Proceeds benefit two organizations that inspire and support good food:  James Beard Foundation and the Good Food Merchants Guild.
