ABOUT CARLOS ROSARIO SCHOOL

The Carlos Rosario Intl Public Charter School for adult immigrant, English-language learners (ELLs), established the Small Business and Entrepreneurship program in the Fall of 2016, to address the desire, need and dreams of our student immigrant population to start their own business and to embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship.  As a result, the program is managed by Mr. Raul Medrano who is also a business instructor, along with his colleague Ms. Angela Neira. Both have embarked on creating a unique program that serves in a unique way start-up food service entrepreneurs as well as artisans by creating and participating in Pop-Up events, as well as Farmer’s Markets in the DC area.  The Pop-Up platform becomes an applied learning platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to engage the public on their product or service, market themselves and to effectively communicate out their business model pitch in English, as well as their native language.  Participants in the Small Business Program, mainly come from Latin-America, as well as West and East Africa. The Carlos Rosario School-Small Business Program has had over 150 participants enroll in the Saturday Small Business Workshop Series since the Fall of 2016 and has positioned start-up entrepreneurs to receive in total, over $100,000.00, in start-up seed funding from its community micro-lending partners such as Life Asset and others.  For more information, contact Raul Medrano, at (202) 797-4700 or [email protected]
