STREET FEST RETURNS TO UNION MARKET DISTRICT

Two jam-packed weekends of art, entertainment, dance and pure fun for everyone

From May 29 to June 8, Street Fest is taking over Union Market District with two four-day weekends packed with energy, movement and surprises on every corner—from immersive art and pop-up galleries and vinyl DJ sets to punk circus shows, live music, dance parties and community-wide experiences.

Whether you’re local or visiting DC, Street Fest has something for everyone. 

ART

The Art Gallery Walk includes eight specially curated shows, beginning May 29—from solo and group exhibitions; from “open studio” experiences to immersive installations. Featuring artists and activations:
Brooke Einbender, Brooke Fierce Bronner at Chela Mitchell Gallery, Maggie Michael, Street Portraits Pop-Up by Creative Theory Agency, Salvador Rubio, Maggie O’Neill, Clarence James & Halim Flowers, The Sculpture Garden by Dan Steinhilber x Masseria, Artcor x Hood Century Modern Presents The Conversation Pit x The Village and MORE.

ENTERTAINMENT

There’s no shortage of things to get into: the 6th Annual Light Reel Film Fest with a lineup of more than 70 films from over 15 countries, Over Easy Queer Dance Party, Free Movies on The Plaza and an all-out collision of punk rock and circus arts from NY Circus Project.

DANCE + CONCERTS

From pop-up concerts to dance parties and classes, this lineup keeps the rhythm going. Featuring a beginner salsa footwork lesson with Baila DC, Femi and the Foundation x Songbyrd Community Concert, Chi (aka Brother GoodLove) x Songbyrd Free Community Concert and Name That Tune Music Bingo with Something Different DC.

FUN

There’s something for everyone: Pet Portraits with Andrea Cáceres, sing along at “Being Alive” a Cabaret of Pride, a Soap Making Workshop or sharpen your skills with cooking classes–all in one place.

EAT + DRINK

During Street Fest, Union Market District comes alive with food and drink specials from our all-star partners. Savor unique offerings like Buffalo & Bergen’s loaded bagel sandwiches, indulge in Latin American street food at La Cosecha, or enjoy themed cocktails at Bar Betsie—all while soaking up the atmosphere.
