DC Dosa was born out of the original and authentic South Indian dosa and chutney recipes handed down by Priya Ammu’s family. Dosas are rice and lentil-based crepes stuffed with a variety of fillings. They are an immensely popular Indian street food staple. Dosas are naturally vegan and gluten free. While seemingly simple to prepare, they require technique, timing, and a well-developed palate to be done right.
In 2012, Ammu was named winner of DC StartUp Kitchen, a contest designed to support budding local food entrepreneurs sponsored by NURISH and Think Local First DC.
