UPDATE: Due to an unprecedented response, this event will be a first-come, first-served for guests who wish to participate (colors and t-shirts available while supplies last). We are working to ensure the best experience possible, so please arrive early. Free parking is available in the Union Market lot, the lot at 5th & Penn St and in the garage at La Cosecha (free for 3 hours). Don’t need to drive? Take the metro to NoMa-Gallaudet U and walk or bike with Capital Bikeshare. Rideshare is available from our friends at Uber, look out for a promo code to save on your ride.

Celebrate the Colors of Holi at Union Market on Wednesday, March 8! Holi brings family and friends together to celebrate color, spring and love.

Hosted in partnership with DC Dosa, Suburbia and RASA, guests will have the opportunity to celebrate all things Holi including colored powder, great music, food and cocktails. This event is generously sponsored by Uber Eats

Schedule:

  • 5:30-5:45 PM: Suggested arrival. Guests will receive a satchel of colored powder upon arrival (while supplies last).
  • 5:50PM-6PM: Time to throw the colors!
  • 6:15-8 PM: Enjoy music by Elite Entertainment, dancing, Henna by Blu Mahbub and samples from RASA, DC Dosa and Rupee Beer. Suburbia will also be serving a specialty colorful cocktail line for the night. Samples are available while supplies last and The Market will be open as usual.

Location: Neal Place outside of The Market. The event will happen rain or shine!

Suggested attire: Not your nicest whites, but the colored powder is washable and non-toxic.

Parking: Guests can park in the main lot at Union Market (entrance on 6th street). First come, first serve.

Donations: In honor of Women’s History Month, a portion of the funds from the event will be donated to SEWA Bharat. The organization is based in India and is a federation of membership-based organizations of women workers. It is committed to strengthening the movement of women in the informal economy by highlighting their issues at the national level and building its member organizations’ capacity to empower women workers.

  • 25% of funds from DC Dosa will be donated from the day. Additional donations can be collected at Suburbia during the event.

Tickets: The event is free to the public but we request that you register online via Eventbrite.
