Come and learn the fundamentals of salsa dancing On2 with Baila DC for six weeks, starting Oct 7th and ending on November 11, 2021. No partner necessary! After class, stick around to socialize, practice, and dance to music until 9 pm! Note that this is the second 6-week series offered by Baila DC (an absolute beginner series took place in August and September 2021).
Course Description & Attendance
This is a progressive 6-week course that is intended for advanced beginners in On2 salsa, those that attended the Aug/Sep 6-week series, those transitioning from On1 salsa, and those looking to brush up on the basics of salsa dancing. We recommend that students are familiar with the On2 salsa basic and timing. Throughout the six weeks we will focus on timing, musicality, learning the layers of the salsa basic step, left and right turns, footwork & shines, and advanced beginner partner work techniques that are fundamental to On2 salsa. Class instruction takes place from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, and from 8:00 -9:00 pm we have a 1-hour practice session with music after class where you can dance with classmates and instructors.
This course is sold in a 6-week package and will not accommodate drop-ins on a random basis. We recommend that students attend each weekly class as the lessons are progressive and will build upon the previous week.
Due to COVID-19 and the nature of partner work dance classes, we are currently enrolling students that pre-register in advance and are fully vaccinated. Please note that all students must wear masks during class due to the recent D.C. mask mandate announced on July 29, 2021
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and for helping us maintain a safe environment. Please have a copy of your vaccination card handy for the first day of class. We will also have disposable masks and hand sanitizer available.
