Edible DC celebrates the very best of the region’s food and drink—and in our Spring Issue, we honor the legacy of Julia Child, whose time in Washington helped shape her iconic voice and influence on American cooking. To mark the launch, we’re bringing that spirit to life with a Spring Salon—an immersive gathering inspired by her passion for craftsmanship, curiosity, and bringing people together around food. Come curious. Leave with new skills, something handmade and a deeper taste of the region. GET TICKETS NOW!

Guests will sample bites and drinks from local producers, farmers, and makers who are shaping the Mid-Atlantic’s food culture. Moving through three fun activities, you’ll meet standout bakers, florists, growers, and artisans from across the region and go home with a cake, a candle, and a beautiful flower bouquet, each of which you made with your own hands. You’ll get to know other participants and experience firsthand the creativity, flavor, and skill that define our local food community, all while celebrating a woman who forever changed how America cooks, eats and gathers.

Your ticket includes:

  • Hands-on cake decorating workshop, with James Beard Award semifinalist Kareem “Mr. Bake” Queeman. Mr. Bake will guide you through the techniques behind his award-winning celebration cakes. With an energetic style, he guides guests through decorating their own cakes while sharing professional pastry tips and the creative flair that has made him one of the region’s most recognized bakers.
  • Pour and customize your own eco-friendly, clean-burning candle with Candles With Attitude. Sustainability meets high-end culture. Enjoy the soothing, rhythmic crackle of natural wood wicks and the peace of mind that comes with a 100% non-toxic glow.
  • Join Agripina & Bloom for a hands-on flower experience. Their tulips are freshly cut from their farm in Catonsville, MD and ready for you to mix and match. Agripina & Bloom is a year-round flower farm operated by Matt Cruz, bringing locally grown flowers to the DMV farmers’ market.
  • Practice your knife skills with knife maker Giancarlo Sulmonte
  • Receive a copy of the newly published issue of Edible DC featuring a tribute to Julia Child

Food & Drink Throughout the Evening:

  • Signature cocktails sponsored by Don Q Rum
  • NA Cocktails from Stursi
  • Oak-aged or stainless steel-aged wines from Barrel Oak Winery
  • Dips and lamb from Mastiha Taverna
  • Baklava from the Persian Table
