For more than four decades, the Guerrilla Girls have used facts, humor, and fearless creative intervention to expose inequality in the art world and demand greater representation for women artists and artists of color.

At the center of their work is a simple idea: when a system is inequitable, you don’t just accept it. You do something about it.

That conviction is deeply connected to the work of FEMME Art Fair, created by Our Daughters’ Futures Fund and USAN USAN to expand visibility, opportunity, and economic power for women artists. FEMME is not a movement. It is a market correction.

Created in honor of the Guerrilla Girls’ visit to Washington, DC, this mural reimagines their iconic 1989 work, You’re Seeing Less Than Half the Picture Without the Vision of Women Artists and Artists of Color.

Funded by EDENS and brought to life by five women artists, the mural celebrates the generations of artists and advocates the Guerrilla Girls have inspired while confronting a reality that remains unfinished: women artists and artists of color are still dramatically underrepresented in the institutions, collections, and markets that shape art history.

The work is both tribute and challenge—a reminder of how far the Guerrilla Girls pushed the conversation forward, and how much work remains to ensure that artists who have historically been overlooked are fully seen, valued, supported, and collected.
